Ramanathan Narayanan
Ramanathan (“Ram”) Narayanan is a seasoned financial technology and banking transformation leader with more than 20 years of global experience driving modern digital platforms, open banking, and identity-driven architectures in large financial institutions.
Ram’s career spans Canada, the UK, and international banking markets across the Middle East and Asia. He has held senior leadership roles across fintech, consulting, and financial services, including serving as Vice President of Technology at Vancity Credit Union, where he led enterprise strategy across digital identity, open banking, core banking modernization, cloud-native platforms, and API ecosystems. Ram also led digital transformation and consulting initiatives within Ernst & Young’s Financial Advisory practice and served as Principal Architect with Temenos in the Middle East, specializing in progressive core banking modernization and client strategy delivery. Throughout his career, Ram has consistently bridged technology innovation with business strategy, enabling scalable financial platforms, regulatory alignment, and improved customer experiences.
Ram is recognized for his expertise in cloud engineering, enterprise architecture, financial technology, digital identity, payments strategy, and ecosystem innovation. He has participated as a speaker and panellist on identity and banking modernization topics, including discussions on digital identity within the Canadian ecosystem.
At ProofOfID, Ram serves as CTO and Advisor, focusing on digital identity adoption models, financial ecosystem alignment, and enterprise readiness in regulated industries, enhancing ProofOfID’s strategy for banks, fintechs, and national infrastructure partners.
Ram holds an Engineering degree from the University of Pune and multiple advanced certifications in cloud, blockchain, software engineering, and digital transformation leadership.
